9/11 Poem
We Were Shocked,
Horrified, Devastated
And So Saddened
We Became Intensely Maddened
New
Americans wept
Then the leaders
joined together,
to decide and deploy, and they became adept.
God we trust you will
give us strength to heal.
Protect our brave people who defend this glorious nation.
Bless those selfless one who care for the wounded,
and save souls at great length.
They give of them selves to mend broken lives
and lend their comfort and strength.
Ultimately let those who have died deserve peace at late.
When the smoke and the dust and the noise have all gone,
and the eerie quiet leaves us with a new dawn.
We'll work together just as we have in the past
We'll heal
We're a Strong nation!
United and Steadfast!
